Relatively easy but long
Relatively easy to get through but took a lot longer to complete than expected

Very easy to understand content
Affordable concise course. Worth it!
Dr. Emmel shows passion in wanting students to succeed by giving tips on how to prepare, and what to do on PTCE day. He offers online chat forum where students can engage in learning. This is helpful because students can give ideas to learn things in different ways. Dr. Emmel responds quickly to emails. I like the brand/generic matching flash cards. This helps with memorization and learning. I love that we can take the tests as many times as we want. This reinforces learning, and relieves stress. I wish the course provided videos on how to compound medicines. I think making medicines is one of interesting things about pharmacy. I’m sure a lot of people would agree to that. Also, tutorial animation videos on how top 200 medicines effects anatomy physiology, and pathophysiology would be interesting. I know that is more than what the students need to know. I think these tutorial videos are engaging, and will help students understand medicines more. Videos on what goes on daily in retail and hospital pharmacy is critical. Clinicals are not provided with this course. Videos will help a lot. People learn different ways. Most are visual learners. Videos showing the entire process of prescription would help a lot. It would ensure us what to do, and boost our confidence when we are actually in the working field. I love that this course is affordable and concise. I recommend this course. Thank you Dr. Emmel for creating this course.
Understanding
I got this course thinking “maybe this will help me at least pass,” now I can say I understand the material. This course offers so much to help you understand what you’re reading without just trying to get the basics. I feel very confident with my ability now!
Easy to comprehend
Phenomenal course with efficient and concise notes. I feel very confident in taking the exam after this course.
Great course! I highly recommend.
I highly recommend taking this course to anyone that is looking to attain a pharmacy technician certification. I have been in working the pharmacy for over 11 years. Though this course I have gained more knowledge and a greater appreciation for the job! Dr Emmel, is thorough with his curriculum and is always looking for ways to improve the program. I really appreciated Dr. Emmel getting back to me about my inquiry about the program and being available to answer questions that students have.
Great course
Thank you for this course. It was beneficial. Everything is great.
Room for improvement: add more examples in the course in the part of pharmacy calculations. Examples that can be met in an exam or real life.
I would give 1000 stars if I could
This course is amazing and truly helpful. I have struggled so much mainly in Pharmaceutical calculations but the way it was explained in this course has helped me a ton on how to solve pharmaceutical equations. Now I feel less anxious about taking the PTCE! Thank you so much Dr. Emmel. You are God sent.
Teaching Old Techs New Tricks (LOL)
Some things I have learned or re-learned will be very beneficial to my passing the PTCE. I have enjoyed this training.
Well-Constructed and Informative, But Not Perfect
I enjoyed taking the course, and found it to be very informative. The supplementary topics, like the patient privacy section were quite helpful. But there were just a couple notes I had for feedback. I appreciated the additional activities for studying in the Medications module, but was a little disappointed with the inconsistency. One chapter would have a crossword, one would have a drug-class matching activity, but neither chapter had both. The activities in the Top 200 Drugs chapters also sometimes used drugs that were listed in the required reading but not the lecture slides. I’ve been studying with digital flash cards I had made from the lecture slides, so going back at the end of the course and trying to do those activities actually made me *feel* like I was doing worse with the medications than I actually was. My other note was that I wish there was an easier way to flag an issue with a question in an exam after completing it, apart from contacting Dr. Emmel directly. I had one instance of an Expiration Date question in the Pharmacy Calculations exam, and there was a question about which class a drug was in – the answer should have been Cephalosporins but that was not one of the multiple choice options.
Aside from those concerns, I really did like the course, I feel well-informed going into the PTCE, and I would highly recommend it.
