Pharmacy Tech Scholar is a great tool to prepare you for the PTCB exam! The course and recommended reading material contain all of the necessary information needed to pass, as wells as educate you as a future pharmacy technician. Dr. Emmel does a great job at explaining everything in detail, while also keeping it interesting and engaging. I just took and passed my PTCB on the first try! This course is well worth the financial investment.

I have loved this course. Dr. Emmel makes himself available to students and is quick to answer questions. Despite the course being asynchronous, Dr. Emmel makes himself engaged in the learning of his students. The slideshows are comprehensive and the resources are incredible. I have not been able to attend any of the virtual classes as they overlap with my school schedule so I cannot say much about those, but even having them is such an amazing way to set up students for success.

The program was well structured and the materials delivered in bite sizes which made self review easier to follow. Dr. Emmel has been remarkable, his open availability ensure concerns or questions were addressed quickly and added to the personalized experience with the course. Without this course I would not have achieved a perfect score on the PTCE exam. The content and experience was well worth the cost.

The program is designed to take approximately 120-hours of active learner time to complete, and our pilot cohorts validate this time requirement. The program is self-paced, so this can be completed in weeks to months depending on the learner’s schedule.
No. ACPE/ASHP accreditation requires educators to provide at least 400 hours of training, including experiential (live on-the-job) training. Online only education does not meet this standard. However, our curriculum is modeled after the ASHP standards for didactic education, so employers and educators looking for an online curriculum to supplement their programs are encouraged to reach out to us to determine if our platform can be a supplement to their training programs.
The enrollment fee covers access to the platform for 6 months and everything needed to complete the program. This includes access to 7 pharmacy technician e-textbooks. Application fees for the PTCE and for pharmacy technician registration in the state(s) in which the individual wishes to practice are not included, however.
