Great Program

October 1, 2025

I really liked this program, I think that the information was presented well and easy to follow while being explained adequately. I like that it was self paced and that I could pick it back up at any time I wanted. I think that all of the modules were a good length as well.

From ascending a staircase on a mountain, to a blissful serene walk on flat land

September 9, 2025

When I started this course, I was optimistic, hopeful, and eager. This was back in the start of April 2025, and I had a promising career opportunity at a nearby hospital. I proceeded through the first few chapters of the module swimmingly, taking notes, paying attention, and looking forward to what is to come. Then, came the Top 200 Drugs.

To be frank, this ruined me. I always have loved learning and expanding my mindset, but this was something else. It was mostly blunt memorization of chemical compound names and product names, which are not prone to being easily digested. This was genuinely the hardest subject matter I have had in my life, and it stonewalled me from wanting to do any more progress for months. It wasn’t until mid July, when I was in a more comfortable environment with someone I loved, who was able to support me into overcoming this wall. It took many days, much focus, and a lot of hours, but I was able to finally overcome this huge obstacle, and I never felt better. After this, the rest of the module was very straightforward and digestible, and I was happy to go back to learning and being intrigued in the topics at hand, finally finishing off today, the start of September.

As for the course itself, I was pleased. Dr. Emmel explained things clearly and thoroughly, and appears to have thorough passion and knowledge on subject matters. I appreciate him emphasizing human emotion and care, something I have personal passion for. The slides were clearly presented and full of proper information, and I never struggled on any chapter outside of the Top 200.

I give 4 stars because I don’t think anything is perfect, but also due to a sort of personal trauma I had from the start of this course, of no fault of quality or anything. If you can conquer and overcome and steel yourself through the Top 200 Medications, it will be smooth sailing towards the finish line of becoming a certified Pharmacy Technician. Thank you for the course; I hope it’ll serve my future well!

This course is very comprehensive and also quite affordable. Dr. Emmel is a truly motivational and a compassionate person who teaches with insight and wisdom in his field. I found his explanations on Math particularly refreshing. Makes it simple, provides all necessary tools and has a penchant for teaching. Well rounded and I feel with the recommended materials prepped fully.

My Overall Experience

September 4, 2025

The course overall is very well organized and detailed. I liked how Dr. Emmel lectures in each modules and gave examples and tips of. what to expect on the PTCE and as a pharmacy technician. The only thing I think would of helped is if the lecture materials would be easy to convert into Powerpoint or some type of note-taking tool that would save a lot of time, but I didn’t mind writing out all the notes and then listen to the lecture videos and writing side notes. Overall, I am satisfied with the program.

A good start into pharmacy

September 1, 2025

For my first exposure to the world of pharmacy, I find the material in this course to be extremely helpful, especially the chapters about different medications and patient safety. The video presentations were easy to digest as they prioritize the important aspects of each topics without overwhelming the viewer with too much information. Additionally, the required readings helped students further understand the subject by providing more context about the applications of certain skills like compounding and professionalism. If I have to list one favorite thing from the entire course, it would be the study activities as they greatly helped me with my memorization skills. That being said, however, the course isn’t without any flaws. For one, the practice exams were shockingly easy in my opinion, and apparently nowhere near the difficulty of the actual PTCE according to most of the students. I also noticed a bunch of typos in both the practice exams and the Generic-Brand typing activity, the latter of which I already informed the instructor of and were fixed right away. Despite these issues, Dr. Emmel was very nice and pretty much addressed all of my concerns regarding the course. Overall, if you’re looking to become a pharmacy technician or wanting to get a taste of the field before pursuing pharmacy school, Pharmacy Tech Scholar is a good start!

Well built testing

August 27, 2025

Was a well-built course covering everything needed for both the exam and for an actual workplace job. The exams helped so much in showing how things will be worded on the exam and also helping cover why a question is wrong. How the modules are grouped also helped in covering certain topics, especially medication names being done first as they were the most difficult.
