My Overall Experience
The course overall is very well organized and detailed. I liked how Dr. Emmel lectures in each modules and gave examples and tips of. what to expect on the PTCE and as a pharmacy technician. The only thing I think would of helped is if the lecture materials would be easy to convert into Powerpoint or some type of note-taking tool that would save a lot of time, but I didn’t mind writing out all the notes and then listen to the lecture videos and writing side notes. Overall, I am satisfied with the program.
A good start into pharmacy
For my first exposure to the world of pharmacy, I find the material in this course to be extremely helpful, especially the chapters about different medications and patient safety. The video presentations were easy to digest as they prioritize the important aspects of each topics without overwhelming the viewer with too much information. Additionally, the required readings helped students further understand the subject by providing more context about the applications of certain skills like compounding and professionalism. If I have to list one favorite thing from the entire course, it would be the study activities as they greatly helped me with my memorization skills. That being said, however, the course isn’t without any flaws. For one, the practice exams were shockingly easy in my opinion, and apparently nowhere near the difficulty of the actual PTCE according to most of the students. I also noticed a bunch of typos in both the practice exams and the Generic-Brand typing activity, the latter of which I already informed the instructor of and were fixed right away. Despite these issues, Dr. Emmel was very nice and pretty much addressed all of my concerns regarding the course. Overall, if you’re looking to become a pharmacy technician or wanting to get a taste of the field before pursuing pharmacy school, Pharmacy Tech Scholar℠ is a good start!
Good Learning Process
The way the program is set up make it easier to understand everything.
Great course.
Thank you so much.
pharmacy
over all course is very helpful
PHARMACY
ALL THE TOPICS IS VERY HELPFUL
Well built testing
Was a well-built course covering everything needed for both the exam and for an actual workplace job. The exams helped so much in showing how things will be worded on the exam and also helping cover why a question is wrong. How the modules are grouped also helped in covering certain topics, especially medication names being done first as they were the most difficult.
Impressions
I enjoyed the delivery and process of this course. It was helpful to have a professional speak on these topics instead of just having me read the slides as it provides multiple avenues of comprehension and understanding for all types of learning styles. The tests after each chapter were good to do because it helps retain the inforamtion instead of just waiting until the end. Great program!
Excellent Course
The curriculum of the course was well written and easy to follow. I liked that it had different learning modules to use for different learner types. I liked that you could go over the lecture numerous times if needed (Math Calculations) and you could stop the lecture video if needed to take your notes. I liked that it was an open book test but there was a timer attached to testing so you needed to know your information as the national certification test will be timed. I utilized the open book where I could go back and check my answer once I answered to question to see if I was correct or not. For me this helps me retain my knowledge base. I liked that the course was constructed like other medical-type courses I have taken with chapter tests and then a unit test. All in all I think if you are an independent learner and have the ability to self-pace yourself through a course of study you will do well with this course of study.
Lots of great study material
There’s great study material and interactive. You can ask questions, go to an only class, etc. Lots of practice tests, and not the same questions over and over so it doesn’t get repetitive (this is for the end of module exams)
